With the background of rapid development of the world tourism industry,Vietnam tourist industry has developed rapidly relies on her beautiful natural scenery,mild climate, long history culture and unique numerous nationalities. However, alongwith the rapid development of tourism enterprises, many problems of corporate socialresponsibility has appeared, such as the tourists’ food poisoning, poor quality oftourism products and service, waste produced by tourist activities and so on.Moreover, there are a lot of problems occur in Vietnamese tourism enterprises’management and development which caused ecological damage, deterioration ofwater quality, increased traffic congestion and other consequences. This phenomenonresults from missing corporate social responsibility that seriously damages the goodimage of tourist industry. The mentioned good images of tourist industry are known as“smokeless industry†and “sunny industryâ€.This paper is a study of Corporate Social Responsibility of Vietnamese touristenterprises. Firstly, the study establishes the evaluation system for tourism enterprisescorporate social responsibility on the basis of combining the stakeholder theory, theinternational evaluation index system number SA8000, the international convention,related laws and regulations and the tourist situation in Vietnam. The EvaluationIndex System included3first-level indexes,9second-level and39third-level indexes.These indexes are established according to there dimensions such as core stakeholders,dormant stakeholders, edge stakeholders. Each index weight was determined byAnalytic Hierarchy Process method. Lastly, the constructed corporate socialresponsibility evaluation index system for Vietnam tourism enterprises is used toassess Hanoi Tourist Company fulfilling their social responsibility condition. Theresults show that, the Hanoi tourism company fulfills its social responsibility ratherwell, but there are still some problems in protecting employees’ rights and employingchild laborer. |
