A Study On The Efficiency Of Commercial Banks Supervision In China

Commercial banks are the most important financial media in almost economic units. As our banking market and the international financial market has been integrated, the supervision of banking sector in our country faces new challenges. Because the global economic and financial environment has changed as well as the banking industry turned a tendency as globalization and integration.This thesis was written with the beginning of the explaining the general theoretic analyses of banking supervision and the connotation of the effective banking supervision. Meanwhile this thesis also analyzed the Basel New Capital Accord from the international standards vision. The Basel New Capital Accord is the guideline of banking supervision, which reflected the experience of banking supervision. According to the practice of Basel New Capital Accord, the author made some further exploration in the efficiency of current Chinese banking supervision system.After several years’development, a closely entire supervision framework has been constructed by China, and the efficiency of supervision has been bolstered massively. However, the weak fundament and some restricted factors make the supervision in China cannot catch up with the international standard. Based on the analysis of affecting factors in regulating banking sectors, this thesis designed a route of improving regulatory effectiveness and gave some suggestions on how enhance the efficiency of domestic banking supervision, so that the operation of domestic banking sector could be more safe and sound as well as the supervision specialization and internationalization of banking supervision could be speeded up.
