A Research On The Decline Of The Labor’s Share Of AnHui Province

Anhui’s Labor’s income share has been falling down to44.64%in2004from60.48%in1993, and the range of the decline is about26.29%. This phenomenon violates the" Kaldor’s stylized fact" that labors’ reward basically remains stable, the decline of labor’s share has aroused discussions and researches widely in academe.Disputes relating to the methods of calculate and the comparativeness of data calibre of labor’s share still exists between academicians home and abroad, but the decline of labor’s income share is an affirmative fact, therefore to probe the reasons why labor’s income share is falling becomes a hotspot in the research of academe. There are many excellent literatures argue this problem from the aspect of the alteration of industrial structure, and a large number of academicians’ studies indicate that the alteration of industrial structure has great influences on the violation of labor’s share. This thesis divides the variation of labor’s share into between-industry effect and within-industry effect, then discusses the reasons that leads the decrease of labor’s share of Anhui province.Our study indicates that the decline of labor’s share between1993and2004is caused primarily by the decline of labor’s share in seperate industries.In order to get the staggered features of the variation of labor’s share,we set1993、1997、2003as three baseyear to resolve the variation.The decline of1993-1997is caused primarily by the decrease of industry’s proportion.The decline of labor’s share in1997-2003accelerates,which is caused primarily by the decrease of first section.2003-2004,for the sake of the adjustmenst of statistical caliber,labor’s share of first section increases,which pushes the whole labor’s share upward.The structure of this thesis is implemented as following. Chapter2summarizes, as well as comments the literatures home and abroad about labor’s income share; chapter3introduces the actuality of Anhui’s labor’s income share and the structure of industry; chapter4presents several methods about the alteration of labor’s income share from the perspective of industry’s structure, and chooses the method this thesis employing, then prepare the relative data and resolve the labor’s share; chapter5 summarizes the reasons result in the decline of labor’s income share; in the6th chapter, summation is made out about the content of this thesis, then pertinent policies and suggestions is proposed to improve the situation of the persistent decline of labor’s income share.The decline of labor’s share is associated closely with social problems such as the expansion of income gap etc,so the discussion of national income’s initial distribution between factors has provode a new pespective to increase people’s income and narrow the income gap.Anhui province is going through remarkable transformation of industrial structure.Make clear of the reasons that leads to the variation of labor’s share will give us better suggestions while making industrial policies.The possible innovation of this thesis lies to the measurement and decomposition of labor’s share of AnHui province. We has summarized the methods to discuss labor’s share from industrial structure perspective,such as three section model、regression analysis etc.This thesis adopts the decomposition method,rosolving the whole violation of AnHui’s labor’s share between1993and2004into between-industry effect and within-industry effect.We aims to find out the reasons that leads to the decline of labor’s share,and this decomposition method satisfies us with the function of exploration of the sectional reasons that leads to the variation of labor’s share.
