Applied Research Of Tod For China

Since reform and opening, city has been in the stage of high-speed development in our country. However, rapid economic development has brought scores of problems to the city. As more and more migrants flood into the city and the development of automobile industry, it makes urban space that has become more crowed and also makes urban traffic congestion and other issues that have become increasingly significant. With the help of TOD mode, it can lessen urban space, traffic pressure, control urban sprawl, save resources and beautify environment. More importantly, when TOD faces urban problems and the challenge of urban development, it has good durability.However, the TOD mode is not a universal standard. The application of TOD mode also needs to aim at the actual situation of our country. Thus, the specific research is needed. This paper absorbs research achievements by the domestic and foreign scholars, discussing the causes and development situation of TOD mode and analyzing the necessity and feasibility of TOD mode in Chinese urban development. On the basis of summarizing TOD mode theory of domestic and international application of TOD mode, especially TOD mode application in our country, it proposes thinking and countermeasures of TOD mode in the future development, which has important significance in the development of TOD mode application in our country.The innovation of this paper lies in proposing essential conditions developing TOD mode based on the summary of system and analysis of the domestic and foreign development of the TOD mode experience. Analyzing TOD mode of Chinese urban development in choice of timing, site and traffic vehicle, this paper gives the suggestion on using TOD mode in China’s urban development.At last, based on the result of this paper and taking Chengdu’s rail transportation and chengdu city planning objectives, it analyzes the feasibility and necessity of development TOD mode in Chengdu, taking XiPu region as a case to propose guiding suggestions in the development of TOD mode in Chengdu.
