The operation and management of marketing channels in rural areas is one of the key competitiveness of the telecom operators. Whether the channel outlets have rational distribution and efficient running directly determines the success or failure of the market operation of telecom operators in rural areas. With years of development of the telecommunications operators, clients have doubled and redoubled, and marketing channels have changed from self-management style only to specified franchise, special agents and other styles. But with the corporate restructuring of the ICT industry, intensified market competing and customer demands rising, the original channel system is difficult to adapt to the needs of future development.How to optimize the marketing channel system and keep the enterprise’s sustained and rapid development has become more and more important.Research in this article is mainly about channels construction and management in rural areas of Qinghai Mobile. The author combines the experience of handling the primary channel management in the Qinghai Mobile and the comparison with competitors, pointed out the problems of channels construction and management in rural area of Qinghai Mobile. The research also proposes some useful suggestion as location model, channel optimizing solution by Star Rating and channel remuneration structure adjustment.This article aims to offer constructive ideas for the construction and management of Qinghai Mobile’s channels in rural area and hope to bring inspiration and benefit of channel development in rural areas of telecom operators in the western region.
