Service development has become the key point for the economic development of the countries as the world economy moves to a value-added, service-oriented economy. Producer service as the advanced progress of services, it plays an important role in the development. With the rapid development finance and economic globalization, financial services become the centre of modern services economy gradually, and play important role in economic and social development as one of supported industries to producer services. Beijing as the headquarters of People’s Bank of China, Insurance Regulatory Commission, securities and futures community (SFC), the four state-owned commercial banks, stock commercial banks and insurance company, it’s at a decisive position in the whole country’s finance development. So it is representative and typical to take Beijing as example to study financial services.According to the research frame of spatial pattern-process-action, this paper studies the spatial distribution pattern and evolution of financial services in Beijing, and then briefly discusses influencing factors of this patter. It is propitious to get a clear understanding of space structures of financial services in Beijing, it is expected to provide helpful reference for the building of new industry cluster functional districts and adjustment of industrial layout optimally.First of all, in chapter1and2this thesis introduces the background and sense of the topic selection, Technology roadmap and so on, and then reviews progress of special study with financial services at home and abroad. Secondly, chapter3based on the Beijing Statistical Yearbook, Almanac of Beijing Finance and Banking and input-output tables over the years, the thesis summarizes the characters of financial services in Beijing from the perspective of size, structure, economy relevance and concentration.Thirdly, in chapter4and5, using first survey of basic units, the second survey of basic units, the first economic census and the data of financial institution organization nets in Beijing at2010, with the help of GIS and GeoDa software, the thesis analyses the spatial distribution pattern and evolution of financial services in Beijing from the angle of unit and employment. The research proves that:Cluster has become one of characteristics as rapid development of financial services. It presents a scene of cluster in center and around seat of the government in periphery area; Different financial institutions have different spatial distribution pattern, core-periphery spatial pattern is represented in the whole; Units and employees of financial services show cluster to the west and east centers; Structural evolution is broadly apparent of special interaction, high-high cluster in the core and lower-lower cluster in the outskirts.In chapter6"the diamond model" is been applied from the factors of location, talent and professional organizations, supply and demand of financial resource, acquirement of information, government function and strategy, structure and behaviour of financial institution to explore the affecting factors of special pattern of financial services in Beijing briefly. In the last part of this paper, major achievable outcomes by researching are summarized and a few further research directions are advanced.
