As one of the most important pillar industries and material production sectors in Chinese national economy, construction industry plays a vital role and has a close relationship with other industries. Construction industry provides important infrastructures and material bases for many material and non-material production sectors. Also it can provide vast spaces for other industries and leads the development of the national economy. On the other hand, other industries provide necessary product and service support. The theory of industry relationship is also known as input and output theory. Its result not only analyzes input and output of one industry, but also reflects quantitative relation of input and output between sectors in economy system. Also, the result can be applied to economic analysis and forecast, policy simulation and plan development etc. Construction industry and other industries develop and promote each other. There are indispensable industry relation and ripple effect between them. Using the theory of industry relationship to understand and analyze input and output features and relationship with other industries of construction industry correctly, the government can formulate effective policy about construction industry development.Based on the latest statistics data——Input-Output Table of China in 2002,2005,2007, this paper will use input-output analysis method to calculus the input-output index of construction industry such as initial investment structure coefficient, intermediate input ratio, intermediate demand ratio, influence coefficient and induction coefficient. Then, based on the integrated Input-output table in 2007, this paper will calculate the consumption coefficient. Next, based on the value added of every industry in the State Statistical Yearbook, this paper will use the gray relational analysis to study the order of the gray relational grade between construction and other industries and compare this order with the order of the total consumption coefficient between construction and other industries. Based on the analysis above, the paper will make a few suggestions on the development strategies for construction industry to use the resources of other industries reasonably.
