This paper firstly discusses the study background and the development of GTEM cell, and the applications in EMC testing of GTEM cell. Then the theory and calculation methods of GTEM cells’characteristic impedance and field distribution, The models of GTEM cell are built, and analysis of simulation results of the models, which show that the design scheme in this paper is reasonable and get the conclusion that the field distributing is well-proportioned. According to the principle of impedance matching. Structural of the GTEM Cell is designed. Specially analysis and design some key component of the GTEM Cell such as the joint and core board and shielded gate. then the paper explains the theory of Electromagnetic wave absorber erasing TEM wave, which can explain Electromagnetic wave absorber’s importance role in impedance matching. In this paper, the design of EMC radiate emission automatic test system based on GTEM cell are told, the paper introduces the hardware composition and flow of the system.
