Our country had a glorious ceramic production history, and the ceramic culture is also an important part of Chinese history and culture. With the deepening of ceramics research, we have accumulated a large number of ancient ceramics samples test and analysis of data, these data and other basic data such as ceramic kilns, ages, and categories were needed to be combed and managed. In addition, ancient ceramic samples chemical composition data implied important information of the kilns and ages. By analyzing deeply these data, we can achieve technology identification of the ceramic samples, thereby making up for the shortcomings of traditional identification method. Based on the analyzing the insufficiency of the ancient ceramic samples database management system on the data sharing and the shortage of the function on the technology identification analysis online, we put forward ancient ceramics data management and identification analysis system based on the network.By using MS SQL Server2000as the backend database, this system adopted J2EE technical architecture, built perfect ancient ceramics data management platform, realized the connection with the platform database and Excel interface, thus managing the data conveniently. By adopting mixed programming such as Java and Matlab, we have achieved the discriminant analysis and factor analysis functions of ancient ceramics, it implemented to identify ceramics samples supported by standard samples data in the system. The system also has achieved the function of automatic data collection and standard sample library expansion, and used restriction management and a variety of data encryption technology to strengthen the security of the system data. The paper introduced the key technologies such as multivariate statistical analysis method, Matlab Compiler and J2EE technology, expounded the design scheme and the realization method of main functional modules, tested the property in terms of the system, and completed system development.On the base of the tests by different use case on the management module such as system permissions, user management, ancient ceramics data management, our results show that the system was easy to operate and safe in the ancient ceramics data management. Furthermore, we focused on testing the performance in terms of identification analysis and the reliability by using discriminant analysis and factor analysis module to identify the known categories samples. Compared with identification result, we found that the identification system of discriminant analysis feature obtained higher accuracy; the enclosed analysis picture reflected intuitively the identification foundation and reliable performance. The3D graphical interface of factor analysis described more clearly the differences and relations of the tested samples and standard samples, and discriminant analysis results verified or complemented each other. According to integration of a variety of analysis method, the identification analysis results is more reliable and further enhance the analysis performance.
