In order to match the need of wireless communications technologies,3GPP launched the standardization of LTE which is long term evolution of UMTS,and then expand the research to LTE-Advanced project. LTE-Advanced has introduced a number of new technologies in order to reduce the delay of transmission,improve the date rate and expand the system capacity. The enhanced MIMO technology plays an important role in LTE-Advanced system. It can help the system to meet the need of peak rate and spectrum efficiency by increasing the data rate and improving the transmission quality.The topic of this paper comes from the11th five-year key project-"Development of IMT-Advanced Public simulation evaluation system" in China Academy of Telecommunication Research of MIT. The main contents of the paper is to analysis the standardization and proposal of3GPP,build a universal and objective link level simulation platform, then make the research and simulation on the key technology of MIMO enhancement, such as spatial multiplexing,transmit diversity and beaforming then evaluate the technical proposal of R11in LTE-Advanced.The work of this paper can be divided into three parts. The first part discusses the background knowledge of LTE-Advanced system,including the standardization process,multiple antenna technology,link level simulation etc.The second part analyzes the related technologies of downlink enhanced MIMO,including closed-loop spatial multiplexing and beamforming technology,makes simulation on layer mapping, codebook design,pilot multiplexing, feedback model. The third part discusses the uplink enhanced MIMO,including the spatial multiplexing of PUSCH and transmit diversity of PUCCH,makes simulation on layer mapping,codebook design, pilot multiplexing,diversity model and gives relevant suggestions.
