At present, the use of the digital image recognition technology plays a very important role inproduction, processing and transportation.Actually the quality of the image obtained in actual engineering practice is so low that using existing recognition mode is difficult to obtain satisfactory result. Therefore it is necessary to study the relevant recognition algorithm according to the specific image situation.In this paper, according to workpiece character image obtained from the factory, the related algorithm about character image recognition is studied. The main content discussed in this paper is about the technology on feature extraction and image recognition. Besides, on the basis of image processing, this paper detailedly introducesthe design and implementation of workpiece character image recognition algorithm, which is combined with the technology of image recognition related. The core algorithms contain grid matching algorithm as well as crossing feature recognition algorithm.The test resulton a large number of actual samples shows that the grid matching algorithm and crossing feature recognition algorithm are able to make the average recognition rate of actual images more than95%.
