In recent years, with the development of network technology and the popularity of broadband network infrastructure, network multimedia technology has been more and more attention. More and more people began to abandon the traditional pre-customized television broadcasts and put their attention to the emerging digital media network. Different from the characteristics of the traditional one-way TV broadcast, interactive information and on-demand viewing is biggest advantage of IPTV. Many Internet service providers in the world, has begun a large-scale deployment of IPTV service and Interactive TV, the household TV (or computer)as the main terminal.The system transfer television programs to the user via the IP protocol and provide a variety of interactive digital media services and value-added services. In respect of the current IPTV development, because of the international Organization for Standardization and IPTV, it has not formed a widely accepted industry standard.The article describes the existing typical functional architecture and network architecture of the IPTV system. The various functional modules in the IPTV system is given a detailed description. What kind of technology can be used in transmission, content storage, authorization policy module to achieve the IPTV system, directly or indirectly, to decide what kind of network architecture, and system resource utilization of existing network hardware and users use the system. This article design and build a IPTV system architecture based on the VQE technology and introduce some related technologies.High bandwidth, large capacity and strong real-time of on-demand video (Video-on-Demand) service is a very important part of the IPTV system. The survey showed that video-on-demand service is desired by internet users. According to statistics, users select a video-on-demand as high as72.8%.But in extensive application process, with the massive growth of the number of users, the lack of available network bandwidth resources become a bottleneck, it seriously hampered the further development of video-on-demand service in the VOD service. To alleviate this problem, the model of distributed VOD based on agent is proposed.The model of distributed VOD based on agent, have been proposed a variety of proxy caching solutions. But Studies have found that in the case of a large amount of data the program efficiency will be low. So for this model in the IPTV architecture, the paper put forward a simple and practical program-proxy cache program based on double linked list, and gives the program ideas and detailed algorithms. Simulation results show that in the case of a large amount of data, compared with the existing proxy caching scheme, without increasing any additional hardware, proxy caching scheme based on the double-linked list, the more effective use of the existing network resources to enhance the user’s viewing comfort.
