Design And Implementation Of Facial Expression Recognition System Based On OpenCV

Facial expression recognition is an engineering technology of great application value involved in the field of pattern recognition and machine vision. While humans can easily distinguish different expressions, it is very complicated to implement on the machine system. With the rapid development of computer technology, Facial expression recognition technology is gradually developed in the application of friendly man-machine interactive system. In recent years, many research institutions has made great contribution to facial expression recognition field in the domestic and overseas, a series of great useful recognition algorithms have been proposed. Several parts mainly involved in face recognition system are those such as facial expression image pretreatment, detection, feature extraction and decomposition and identification.The main work of this paper is to build a facial expression recognition system based on video acquisition, Functions such as face detection, expression recognition and the establishment of expression library have been implemented. First, various methods of image processing have been analyzed, and applied to the image geometry and illumination pretreatment, thereby improving the quality of the face image. Second, face detection method adapted to general condition has been selected by the analysis of various detection algorithms. Facial feature extraction and decomposition are based on Gabor transform and subspace method. The last, it is a deeply introduction to the framework of the whole system, a detailed description of the various sub-modules of the program. The function of the program is to implement real-time face detection. The establishment of expression database can be collected through the camera equipment.
