With the development of sensor’s technology and the methods of unit maintenance which has been changed from regular overhauling to the state one, in rencent years, some higher requirements is promoted in the monitoring system of unit running state in hydropower station.According to the actual demand, the author aims to study on vibration monitoring device which can appaly the variety of units operating in various situations. This kind of device has the characteristics as frequent, speedy and accurate in data collection, compared with fomer devices, it can even achieve the functions as data storage and trend analysis. In addition, this paper focuses the researches on the practical application of vibration monitoring device, which is meaningful to vibration’s design, debugging and installation.The main research works of this paper can be divided into following parts:firstly, it studied the mechanism how the vibration and throw of units is formed as well as the methods and national criteria to measure it. Secondly, this paper also did some researches on principles and consititutes of various sensors which used as vibration measurement, especily the eddy current sensor. Lastly, the paper provided some verified methods on kinds of aspects by vibration’s debugging and installating, such as the channel of vibration monitoring device, the sensitivity of eddy current sensor and the combination experiment of vibration and sensors.Therefore, the detailed data demonstrated in this paper, to some extent, is the refernce for the same kind anlysises of other vibration monitoring devices.
