With the development of broadband wireless access technology, user’s demands for various kinds of services and applications grow day by day. In order to meet the growing demand,3G and its evolution to LTE/LTE-A has been paid more attention. As a indispensable technology to realize high data rate and high throughput, the target of cross layer wireless resource allocation is to distribute wireless resource for users with different demands properly, and promote system’s QoS and resource efficiency. This paper mainly does some research on the cross layer wireless resource allocation related technology in LTE/LTE-A systems.First, this paper summarizes the wireless resource management technology of LTE/LTE-A, analyzes the present research of cross layer design, and models the general situation of cross layer wireless resource allocation scheme. Second, this paper deeply analyzes the potential game theory especially the exact potential game and its application in mobile communication system. Finally, according to the current research situation, this paper proposes dynamic multi-cell cross layer wireless resource allocation scheme and multi-cell energy saving scheme based on potential game.Dynamic interference coordination scheme divides the cross layer wireless resource allocation into two steps, the channel allocation in MAC layer and the dynamic power allocation in PHY layer, dynamic power allocation is based on the results of channel allocation, and it will serve the next scheduling process. Furthermore, convergence of cross layer wireless resource allocation scheme is guaranteed by potential game. To increase system fairness, channel gain is introduced into the newly proposed pricing mechanism. Simulation results show that, the proposed scheme promotes system total throughput and cell-edge throughput effectively, and increases system fairness to a large extent, getting a extreme good inter-cell interference coordination effect.Multi-cell energy saving scheme constructs LTE/LTE-A multi-cell energy saving model, and selects proper utility function according to the application of sigmond users’satisfaction function on energy efficiency with the newly proposed pricing mechanism. This scheme is proposed to optimize the total system energy, and fulfill the joint cross layer optimization through channel allocation in MAC layer and dynamic power allocation in PHY layer. Simulation results show that, the scheme promotes system energy efficiency a lot while maintaining system throughput performance, besides, the introduction of pricing mechanism help to improve system fairness to large extent.
