This paper focuses on the important carrier of Yan’an Literature--Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement. Yan’an Liberation Daily is the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Northwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. At that time, Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement was an important field that Yan’an writers published works, and it recorded the historical process of the occurrence, development and being gradually standardized of Yan’an Literature.The paper makes Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement from May16,1941to November19,1946as the basic research object. And it explores the development and changes of Yan’an Literature and Art in this period by combing the published works and studying on the operation mode of Literature and Art Supplement. At the same time, through the systematic research before and after the revision of Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement, it not only can reveal the tendency which literature was involved in political and ideological discourse in this period, but also can see the writers’ own ideological evolution and the identity change.The paper is divided into four chapters to systematically investigate Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement from the following aspects:The first chapter deals with the generation, development context and literary ecology about Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement. It combs the process of the occurrence and development of Liberation Daily and its supplement. At the same time, it analyzes creation groups, readers’groups and ideological resources on Literature and Art Supplement, and explores the political and cultural backgrounds from its soil of growth. It is based on Yan’an realistic revolutionary life and carries on the ideas of the supplement of Red China in the Soviet Area In a word, it unites the joint effect of various cultural resources to be generated.The second chapter mainly introduces achievements of Literary Column which was one of eight special issues of Liberation Daily before the revision. The literary special issue of this period is a pluralistic and free writing platform in Yan’an political and cultural context being relatively relaxed. This chapter mainly takes the supplement editor-in-chief Ding Ling as an example, and analyzes her generosity and tolerance in editorial policy how to influence on the pluralism and free style in Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement before the revision. In the meantime, by analyzing the literature overview of the content of published works of the supplement, it further presents the richness of the literature outlook and diversified characteristics of writing in the Literary Column. Meanwhile, the paper focuses on the interpretation of political imagination and negative construct by intellectuals that essays contain.The third chapter mainly discusses the generation of institutionalization and the disciplined effect of the political ideology about the revised Comprehensive Supplement. And it tries to dig the valuable thought and artistic exploration in the literature. This chapter deals with literature being gradually institutionalized, through analysis of the manifestation and effects that Yan’an Rectification Movement and Speech affected on the Literature and Art Supplement, and supplemented by newspapers historical data and text analysis. It analyzes the political ideology on literary norms during this period by examining the criticism of Wang Shiwei, the prevalence of collective writing, peasants’ and soldiers’writing and the emergence of new Yangko opera. At the same time, the paper attempts to explore individualized efforts outside the main theme of the revolutionary narrative in Comprehensive Supplement by writers.The fourth chapter deals with the impact of the literary history of Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement, and explores inevitability and influencing factors of literary institutionalization. It analyzes writers’identity changes, and takes Ding Ling, Ai Qing and He Qifang for example to explore the causes and performance that writers changed their writing style. At the same time, the paper uses the concept of’public sphere’by Habermas to examine the pros and cons that literature participates in public discourse space.In short, Yan’an Liberation Daily has important influence on Yan’an Literature, and its systematic study of Literature and Art Supplement helps a comprehensive grasp of the transformation of Modern Chinese literature to Contemporary Chinese Literature. This paper belongs to the study of the newspaper supplement, takes Yan’an Liberation Daily Literature and Art Supplement as the research object, and investigates Yan’an Literature from the perspective of newspaper supplement which is the ’literary carrier’. It can be said that the modern media provide a unique perspective for the study of Modern Chinese Literature. The literature supplement of newspaper retains the most original style of literary and artistic creation, and it provides valuable primary sources for the study of Modern Chinese Literature.
