With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, the miniaturization, multi-band, broadband and low SAR has become the inevitable trend of the mobile phone antenna development. Among the design of mobile phone antenna, planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) and planar monopole antenna (PMA) are widely used in2G and3G. But with the4G and5G band at the opening, PIFA and PMA have been unable to meet the design requirements of the more multi-frequency mobile phone. In recent years, folded loop antenna has attracted many scholars and enterprises concerned with broadband characteristics. Therefore, the focus of this article is the method of the folded loop antenna design for mobile phone.In this paper, firstly I introduce the research background and significance of the folded loop antenna, and analysis the research history and status home and abroad at detail, and explain the content and arrangement of the whole thesis.Secondly, I introduce the parameter of antenna for the purpose of understanding the handset antenna character, which can provide the theory basis for the later chapter.Thirdly, I review the development history of mobile phone antenna, and explain the theory of planar inverted F antenna and planar monopole antenna at detailed. I introduce the practical design method by the PMA/PIFA design and manufacture. Then I present the test standards and norms of mobile phone antenna.Fourthly, I introduce the basic theory of folded loop antenna. Then I present the key to the miniaturization and wideband design method of folded loop antenna for mobile phone application.Finally, I have designed two folded loop antenna on the basis of the above. The antenna can separately cover the band of WWAN(GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS2100) and the band of WWAN/LTE2300. Relevant conclusions have certain directive significance to the mobile phone antenna design.
