Data mining is a process of discovering the effective knowledge from huge information like database or data warehouse. Sequential pattern mining is to discover the high frequency of frequent mode from a data set based on time or other order. Sequential pattern mining, as an important branch of data mining, has a very wide range of applications, including network intrusion detection, network video recommendations and customer buying behavior analysis, and so on. In recent years, with the development of information technology, electronic information technology has penetrated every aspect of all enterprises and institutions. The application of information technology lead to the enterprises operational management data growing exponentially, in the face of increasingly large data, how to tap the knowledge hidden in the data, auxiliary staff for effective management decision-making has become a serious problem. So far, it has carried out many research and application of data mining techniques to explore further. Many research results have been used in the field of telecommunications, finance, e-commerce, e-government, however, the vehicle maintenance data analysis is still in its infancy.Vehicle maintenance has its particularity, for instance, because of the shelf life requirements of the service, a car for a repair doesn’t need for the same repair services. in the short term. Vehicle maintenance, long-term maintenance and management of data may reveale that more hidden serious problems, such as:the high maintenance costs of some of the vehicles, maintenance times, some of the vehicles in the short term, several repairs the same kind of problem. Based on a sequential pattern mining algorithm, this article conducted in-depth research on vehicle maintenance records, the main research contents are as follows:1.This paper deeply analyses the current vehicle maintenance system and the its problems faced by, and fully illustrates the necessity of the research for vehicle maintenance records based on sequential pattern mining.2.This paper presents sequential pattern mining algorithm research background and recent research status, on the other side, the current most representative sequential pattern mining algorithms as well as the advantages and disadvantages are were analyzed.3.This paper presents vehicle maintenance data mining model to guide the sequential pattern mining of vehicle maintenance data.4. This paper summarizes an improved sequential pattern mining algorithms APSpan algorithm used in police vehicles maintenance records dataset. Meanwhile it analyzes and compares the improved algorithm PrefixSpan and the original algorithm to analysis the improved algorithm APSpan the advanced nature.5. In this paper, the improved sequential pattern mining algorithm is applied to mining vehicle maintenance data, by using police vehicle maintenance data as an analytical data source, some dimension of the police vehicle maintenance records are conducted in-depth mining. At the same time, this paper conducts a police vehicle maintenance records sequential pattern mining experiment. Through experiment, the sequential pattern mining algorithm is improved reliable, stable, efficient, and can be well used in police vehicles maintenance of data mining.
