In the past decade, the rapid development of China’s civil aviation industry has received a remarkable achievement, Due to the rapidly expanded pilots, increasingly sophisticated hardware equipment as well as new routes, a new look of the pilot training industry appeared in the world;on the other hand, the higher requirements on the quantity and quality of the pilot have to be put on the agenda.As the part of simulator training system, the data collection and quality assessment system for flight simulator tried to run the blockade of foreign technology. Without bringing any changes to the flight simulator, this system presents a method which enables the data collection and quality assessment be real-time. The process could be divided into three parts.Firstly, the video images are used to record the flight data from monitors and send to video server. After that the video images would be processed through graying and binarization. So recognizing the flight data from the processed images by using the pattern recognition technology becomes very easy. The data will be stored in txt document.In the second part, the cameras will be installed into the flight deck which will take charge of recording the pilots’flight elements. Then the OpenTLD framework which combines the technology of object detector, object tracker and learn is bring into the system to handle the elements video. And this video track technology is real-time in the process procedure.Finally, extract the feature points which could represent the entire flight trajectory from the data file coming from data recognition sub-system and video tracking sub-system. Using the feature points to train the assessment model which is based on the BP NN(Neural Network).After that, the model will output a grade which is one certain result from excellent, good, medium, bad or worse.The system makes full use of the existing resources of flight simulator, and reduces the adverse impact of the subjective factors to achieve a more scientific and objective quality assessment of flight training. The successful implementation of this project can effectively reduce training costs and promote the development of the field of flight training.
