Biometrics is an important branch in the field of information security, whose main purpose is to protect the key information and biometric information of the users. With the continuous development of science and technology, biometric technology has also got a major breakthrough, which provides the technical support to protect key information more safely and efficiently. Fuzzy Vault algorithm is a combination of the biometric encryption and decryption algorithms. At present, Fuzzy Vault algorithm is drawing more and more attention and recognition of researchers. The most important feature of Fuzzy Vault is fuzziness, by using this feature, Fuzzy Vault maximize the extent possible to protect the user’s biometric information. The main steps of the algorithm are as follows:firstly, build the polynomial by using the key. Secondly, build a set of points under the help of the biometric information. Then, add the hash point. Finally, we can get the vault. In previous studies, people take more attention to consider the single-user identification process, which makes it difficult to guarantee the building polynomial order as the keys are only assigned to a single user to save and such identification is relatively simple. Thus the single-user identification process can not guarantee that the entire the security of the system. In this paper, we consider an improved Fuzzy Vault, and introduce the concept of secret sharing. Moreover, we combine the secret sharing algorithms with Fuzzy Vault. Then, in order to solve the problem of the constructed polynomial order may be too low, we propose an improved Fuzzy Vault by using random number algorithm, which improve the system security and complexity effectively.This paper consists of the following components.Firstly, after introducing the secret sharing technology, we combine it with the Fuzzy Vault. Then by using advantages of security and flexibility of secret sharing technology, we improve the Fuzzy Vault. On basis of Fuzzy Vault, we propose a project that we can assign the key to multiple users and share threshold secretly.Secondly, with the help of the combination of secret sharing technology and by using random number, we propose a strengthening algorithm of the polynomial coefficient algorithm. And the "random number" is saved by the user, which makes the system actually add another layer of protection. Moreover, the manner of "random number" can protect the system not easy enough to be cracked. As a result, the whole system security is greatly improved.Thirdly, we combine the proposed secret sharing technology with the random number algorithm. Then the paper further expands the improved Fuzzy Vault and presents a multi-user to establish a biometric template. Finally, using the characteristics of each user, we get the encryption and decryption process of Fuzzy Vault. In such a way, the secret sharing technology can be achieved, and combined with the "random number", Fuzzy Vault can be improved. Then the system has a very good safety performance as well as the efficiency problem of multiple users to independently complete Fuzzy Vault can be solved effectively.Finally, based on the experimental results, the algorithm which combines the secret sharing with random number which we propose in this paper not only improves the flexibility of the system, but also increase the security of the entire system.
