With the development of the domestic economy and the process of urbanization, the research of the safety-critical computer platforms which is the hardware core of the sinaling system becomes the primary task of the rail transportation system. To meet the performance, security and reliability requirements of safety-critical computer, a new safety-critical computer platform based on QorIQ multicore processor is proposed in the process of development of the rail transport.The author firstly introduces the principle and the structure of safety-critical computer platforms which are widely used in the industrial field, and then the performance requirements of system are analysised. Based on this, the basic structure and key technologies of computer are determined and the processor platform and multi-core technology in design are introduced in detail, then a new security computer system design is proposed. Secondly, the author focuses on the hardware and software design process of the system, detailed proposes the design methods of the modules of CPU board and POWER board. The software design process in the operating system and software layers is given, especially in the AP and ME software design. Finally, the author gives the detailed testing with the module and functional of the CPU board and POWER board, the feasibility and correctness of system design can be proved.This research presents the design method of a new safety-critical computer platform based on QorIQ multi-core processor, and proves its advantages in performance and safety and reliability, it can provide some reference value for the study of the safety-critical computer in the future.
