Opportunities routing in wireless mesh network as a new type of network routing strategyhas the broad application prospects. However the successful realization of Wireless MeshNetworks’ efficient and practical products is not easy, there are a series of key technicalproblems need to be solved. From the thought to the communication network layer, networklayer routing technique is especially important. So the high quality efficient routing protocols arethe key for high performance working of the network. On the basis of discussing the research background and network characteristics of wirelessmesh networks, this thesis analyses the development and deficiencies of opportunistic routing inthe current mesh network, purposes an improved bidding routing protocol based on opportunisticrouting in wireless mesh network. It designed a point-to-point competitive bidding model. Eachnode is according to its own status and information property to determine whether a deal. Theimproved protocol design mentioned in this thesis is divided into three modules, namely theenvironment attribute module, bidding mechanism module and routing module. The processingprocedure of selecting the routing domain of candidate forward node is based on the ambientproperties of the node and the competitive mechanism. Finally it obtains a number of morereasonable end-to-end paths and determines the path prioritization with path parameter which becreated by bidding strategy. It also designs two forwarding modes for the choice judgement, which are master-slave switching single-path forwarding mode and multiple paths forwardingmode. The simulation results demonstrate that this improved protocol can avoid blindcollaboration when resources are scarce, and it is also better to achieve the whole network loadbalance, so as to enhance the efficiency forward.
