With the rapid development of wireless networks technologies, wireless multimediaapplications have become widely used in daily life. In wireless networks, the ultimate target formultimedia applications transmitting is to improve user experience. Therefore, QoE(Quality ofExperience,QoE)is considered as the core metric to measure the performance of multimediaapplications transmitting. At present, researching on QoE has become a hot research spot in thefields of wireless multimedia transmission.The dissertation makes an intensive research on QoE measurement technology. The main workincludes the following:Firstly, the dissertation clarifies the definition of QoE, and summarizes the methods for existedQoE measurement and optimization.Secondly, the dissertation divides QoE metrics into four parts based on philosophical view:Human subjectivity (Subject), Video services (Object), Wireless networks (Transmission carrier),Terminal (User carrier), and based on these parts, expand a three-layer relationship for QoE metrics:experience layer, subjective layer, and objective layer. Furthermore, the result of pseudo subjectiveassessment of objective layer is incorporated into the subjective layer in a creative thinking.Consequently, the dissertation sets up the QoE metrics system characteristic of hierarchical tree.Thirdly, the dissertation establishes QoE evaluation models according to the three layersrespectively: using a fuzzy rule-based method to determine the weight of experience layer; utilizinganalytic hierarchy process method to deal with subjective layer, and using pseudo subjectiveassessment method to process QoE metrics of the objective layer; furthermore, multivariatenon-linear regression analysis method is adopted to obtain QoE assessment of objective layer.Consequently, integrated model for QoE evaluation is given and QoE measurement mechanism,which caters to the multimedia applications in wireless networks, is derived.Finally, simulation experiments are hired to detailed verify and analyze the QoE evaluationmodel and a scheme for QoE optimization based on QoE measurement mechanism, which is putforward in this dissertation, is proposed.
