With the rapid development of intelligent and network technology, wireless sensor networks(WSN) which integrates multiple disciplines of modern sensor technology, communicationstechnology, microelectronic technology has aroused attention and study. In recent years, data fusionbased on WSN becomes a research focus in the wireless sensor networks, researching data fusionalgorithms in WSN for the accuracy of obtaining monitoring object information has importantapplication value. In this paper data fusion algorithms based on mobile agents (MA) in WSN is mainly studied, and three typical data fusion algorithms based on MAare analyzed, they are MA-LEACH algorithm,MA-LCF algorithm and MA-GCF algorithm, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.MA-LCF algorithm and MA-GCF algorithm are focused in studying in the paper. Simulation resultsshow that they are too dependent on network structure, and its performance is drastically reducedwith the increase of the number of nodes in WSN.In the study of three typical data fusion algorithms based on MA, A data fusion algorithmbased on MA is proposed in the paper, MA-CACO algorithm. The characteristics of the algorithmare:①A balanced consideration of the distance of nodes and remaining energy of the next node isadopted, and an optimal path for MA when MA visit cluster nodes is able to be found;②it doesn’texcessively depend on the topology of WSN, and the problems which exist in the MA-LCFalgorithm and MA-GCF algorithm can be effectively solved. With the simulation of MA-CACOalgorithm, a conclusion is draw: the algorithm effectively has saved the sensor nodes energy, reduced the pass loss and network delay, which achieves the purpose of extending the life cycle ofthe entire WSN.
