Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) technology is one kind of Process Tomography (PT) based on the principle of capacitance sensitive developed rapidly. ECT has become the mainstream in the multiphase flow parameters detection field because of the advantages such as fast processing speed, non-invasive, non-radiation, good security, low cost and so on. But there are many problems not solved in ECT technology, such as the low accuracy image quality. This dissertation goes into improving image quality. The main contribution and results are as follows:First, based on the idea of rotational capacitor, an idea of combined capacitor was proposed which can improve reconstruction image resolution by increasing the amount of projection data without decreasing the area of electrodes and reducing the sensitivity. And based the idea of combined capacitor, the capacity transducer and its switching networks was designed.Second, Iterative optimized Tikhonov regularization algorithm was proposed bying improving Tikhonov regularization algorithm, and reconstruct the image with this algorithm. The experiment results show that the the accuracy of reconstruction image was increased based on the impoved method. In addition, this paper has studied the circuits of tiny capacitance detection based on charing/discharging principle, developed the appropriate circuits of capacitance detection for ECT. Construct the finite element model of actual ECT system, simulation of ECT system was carried out and obtain the sensitivity field distribution calculated by Ansys software.ECT system experimental equipment was developed, and experiment for combined capacitor method were made.
