With the popularity of the Internet and the explosive growth of digital information, people can come into contact with mass of information at home. With the growing surge of the amount of data, we urgently need to adopt a new, more dynamic method to find our required information. Although we have different categories of data, it is no longer an effective method to find the information from thousands of category or sub-category.People face such a large amount of data, while they begrudge their valuable time resources. To resolve this conflict, we must find a flexible, free and timely data query methods, so that we can be able to pass through all kinds of strict classification boundaries quickly find the needed information accurately,which costs a minimum energy.Large-scale professional search engines like Baidu, Google, just meet our demand for network information more likely, and can not do a comprehensive search for a specific application system. Meanwhile,with Lucene, we can add an exclusive search engine to its own for any application system.Besides, with the help of third-party software, we can not only search the Web information,but also system data within the document (txt, Word, excel, pdf, ppt, etc.) and the data in the database.Firstly, introduce the principle of Lucene, focus on analyzing how to build the index sort score indicators and Chinese Word segmentation. Secondly, introduce Compass framework based on Lucene, then combine it with the most popular Web development architecture ssh (spring+struts2+hibernate), build a search engine within’Wuxi Sense China Exposition Traffic subset module’successfully. Finally, make a simple and objective evaluation of the work and performance indicators for the system, point out the desirabilities and inadequacies, and point out the direction of future research.
