Maneuvering target tracking is widely used in military fields, has been applied in air defense and antimissile early warning, etc. With the continuous development of military science and technology, various new weapons continue to emerge, the maneuvering performance is getting better and better. The real-time and effective of maneuvering target tracking algorithm increasingly high requirements. Interacting multiple model algorithm is the best algorithm for maneuvering target tracking, but the algorithm is complex, large amount of calculation, difficult to meet real-time requirements of practical engineering applications using software implementation, which also limits the wide application of its engineering. Field Programmable Gate Array supports parallel computing, which belongs to the hardware implementation, and is now widely used to process complex digital filtering.In this paper, based interacting multiple model of the maneuvering target tracking algorithm and its hardware implementation are studied. First, the introduction of the principle of maneuvering target tracking and tracking model, designed IMM-DCMKF, IMM-EKF, IMM-UKF three kinds algorithm, Monte Carlo simulation, and comparative analysis of the three algorithms simulation results. Secondly, the IMM-DCMKF algorithm in matrix form is decomposed into scalar form using Scientific Workspace software, using FPGA structure design method based on block, completed the IMM-DCMKF algorithm FPGA design and simulation. Then, the maneuvering target tracking system hardware circuit board is designed, introduced the chip hardware selection and circuit design of the memory modules, power modules, communication modules, DSP and FPGA module, and DSP and FPGA communication interface design. The system software design according to the hardware circuit board, complete the design of system main program, the design of each part of the system initialization program, as well as the design of communication and storage procedures.Finally, the paper, on the basis of software and hardware designs, debugs the entire system and tests the real-time and validity of IMM-DCMKF algorithm implemented by FPGA. Prove the correctness and high real-time of IMM-DCMKF algorithm completed by FPGA, for maneuvering target tracking algorithm based on interacting multiple model provides a new way to practical engineering application.
