The Key Techniques Of Polarization Of Millimeter Wave Radiometer

Fully polarized millimeter-wave, a new type remote sensing instrument, can measure all four Stokes polarization parameters of the target’s millimeter-wave radiation, can got more information compared to traditional radiometer, has good prospects.The system theory and structure of Fully polarized millimeter-wave radiometer are mainly demonstrated. The two key components of system——Ortho-Mode Transducer(OMT) and complex correlator are study.Firstly, The theory and structure of the system were introduced in detail. For achieved Fully-polarization, the first step is dual-polarization. The radiometer which can measure dual-polarization is called dual-polarized millimeter-wave. It can identify the pool from metal target, for pool has different radiation between vertical and horizontal polarization. Then we make the two polarization through the complex correlator, we can get all four Stokes polarization parameters.Secondly, OMT were study. We developed two kinds of OMT——circular public waveguide membranaceous chip branch OMT and short circular public waveguide OMT. The theory and structure of the two kings of OMT are demonstrated. We used software HFSS13.0simulated there models. And then we manufactured the short circular public waveguide OMT which can be cranked out a compact structure.Finally, we developed the analog complex correlator. Multiplier cell was the key component of the analog complex correlator which we introduced it’s theory and structure. The multiplier cell was maked up of intermediate frequency multiplier、low frequency amplifier and low pass filter. We designed multiplier with novel multiplier chip ADL5391. The intermediate frequency amplifier and low pass filter was simulated with softwave Multisim11.Then we processed the physical production of multiplier cell.
