In today’s computer animation, traditional computer simulation technology because of its complexity and the lack of autonomy, has become more and more complicated, and it is difficult to achieve real results. Along with the technical development of artificial life, a lot of advanced intelligent algorithm is applied to computer animation.This paper focuses on the research of artificial life method of virtual fish model. Firstly, A double control model of virtual fish is putted forward, including physical motion model and advanced behavioral model. The physics kinematics model mainly use the" mass-spring damper " system of simulation fish biomechanical structure, and the use of semi implicit simulation algorithm to solve the kinematic model. Senior behavior model employed to describe virtual fish behavior. Then, the Virtual fish high-level behavioral plan is built, including the selection and determination of target, and planning and selection. Five kinds of autonomous fish behavior such as猎物,escaping, chasing, swarming and random swimming are explored and their respective features are analyzed. Finally, A virtual fish animation simulation system is designed based on Visual C++platform and OpenGL. The swarm behavior of virtual fish can be found based on the simulation test.
