Intelligent video surveillance technology is leading edge research. By using image processing technology and technology related to computer vision methods, It can monitor the moving target in real-time appeared on the scene for detection,tracking and identification in the screen.It is important to the application in security and traffic management,etc.This paper describes the international face detection and recognition technology research, application and development status. First It describes the current mainstream of face detection and recognition algorithms.This paper focuses on Viola, who is proposed based on AdaBoost face detection algorithm,.This algorithm uses the Haar-like features to represent images,thus it improve the speed of computing the Feature information.The Engen measured method is used in the face recognition technology.First,this method partition the face image into blocks according to the main characteristics,and then it will improve the speed of Face Recognition by using the algorithm of Eigenface to the images of blocks.This paper describes today’s popular face tracking algorithm and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of various algorithms in detail later.By comparing the pros and cons, I determined to use the Meanshift tracking algorithm in this paper.This article discusses the establishment and management of tracking window,the problem of correspondence in the sequential target tracking and target queue update, It uses the Kalman filter as the method to estimate target to complete the tracking of the human facein video sequence.This also improves Mean shift Face tracking algorithm.Base on this algorithm, it can continuously and accurately track human face by introducing the adaptive tracking window.
