In processing control, a long time-delay system and time-varying system often appear. Thecontrol object that it has a large time constant has a lag characteristic, general speaking it actslowly, like a furnace temperature control system and tape machine feeding system. In order to solve the problem, a self-turning pole placement method was proposed, combined with intelligent control and expert control system based IMC to compensate the lagfactors for achieve the optimal system performance index. Pole placement method according tothe design requirements and reasonable allocation of closed-loop poles can obtain a desireddynamic response and good robustness. Using the recursive least square method (RLS) forincreasing data identifies online. According to the control object parameters and gradientadjusting the automatic sequence hierarchy change controller parameters adaptively. Finallymaking use of the setting of optimal PID parameters and the input/output sequences to identifydata in real time. The identified input/output sequences are used as the intelligent self-turningcontrol’s input to make the output quickly stable.Simulation results shows intelligent self-tuning internal model control has very gooddynamic performance and robustness rather than conventional PID control under disturbances.
