With the substantial growth of Internet applications, it brings all kinds of issues on theof network security. These security issues will not only reduce productivity, but may evencause damage and leakage of important information. Among them, especially theproliferation of computer viruses is a major disruptive factor of the network. Practice hasproved that the best means to eliminate computer virus is to isolate it outside the LAN.However, some IT technical leaders expect the antivirus products are not only a set ofhigh-performance software but a set of independent operation, easy maintenances, wellperformance and higher stability anti-virus system. Therefore, it is necessary to combine theLAN security means and virus prevention, and then form an effective anti-virus system afterdesign and modification. In order to ensure network security and eliminate network viruses,this article will focus on the edge of the LAN and set up virus prevention system in theInternet and LAN interface----gateway antivirus wall system. Antivirus wall is a kind ofmulti-function, high performance products which realize the virus detection, intercept andclear in the network interface as well as are able to protect the internal network and externalserver from attacks by the many kinds of anti-virus wall layout in the edge of LAN, besides,it provides a secure network environment for mobile users.Gateway antivirus wall system provides a new LAN security solution, which eliminatescomputer virus outside the LAN. Now, antivirus is no longer stay just in the terminal,workstation, server, mail server and gateway can be seen everywhere. We have reason tobelieve that the gateway antivirus wall system will play an increasingly important role in thefuture. As a security system applies at the network interface, it provides a sturdy protectivelayer which represents the direction of the development of the anti-virus technology.In this paper, our goal is to design and lay out the gateway antivirus wall system, andresearch on the related technique. The main work include: introduces the researchsignificance and development of computer viruses; analyses gateway antivirus significance,gateway antivirus wall system and network security; design, deployment environment,operating modes and deployment process; takes concept test, high-load testing, performancetesting on the gateway antivirus wall system; gives the comparison pre-and post-deploymentcontrol. The experimental results show that our system effect is very well.
