Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is a Practical digital medical image management system, which developed with unceasing progress of medical imaging technology and the deeply and widely application in the medical treatment field, the purpose is converting the medical images collected from different places and various imaging device into the standard digital image, and then transmitted to the central data management System. Through the computer network the images could be delivered to display workstations witch could be used by radiologists, Clinicians or the other medical professionals. Through PACS can realize collection, storage, compression, transmission and processing and reconstruction of medical image.This paper introduces the related image processing technology and related algorithms at first, take PACS of Sheng-jing hospital as developing background, and then introduces the components of Digital Radiography devices(DR), overall design and the function module design, Focus on the DR image enhancement, filtering, smoothing and sharpening and other processing techniques. The paper gives the key features of DR image processing involved, implementation steps, using the algorithm and flow chart.This paper enhanced DR image with cubic interpolation Algorithm, expressed the relationship between object density and the gray with the curve instead of the straight line. Tandem all the breakpoints witch inserted into the curve using more smooth and natural way of transition, to enhance image clarity. Removing Noise by median filtering algorithm, to ensure effective removal of impulse noise at the same time does not change the image too much detail. Convolution algorithm used for image smoothing and sharpening, processing image make use of the proven convolution kernel. Running results show these algorithm for medical images processing with good result.
