With the development of mobile Internet, more and more useful and promisingapplications based on indoor positioning technology come into our lives. As animportant branch of positioning technologies, indoor positioning technology based onwireless LAN is a great addition to the positioning technology based on GPS (GlobalPositioning System) indoor. This paper mainly studies the indoor wireless positioningtechnology based on signal footprint matching in the indoor-wireless LAN environment.Firstly, the features and the development status of indoor positioning technology basedon wireless LAN are introduced. Afterwards, the concept of indoor positioningtechnology is introduced, and the characteristics of wireless signal propagation areanalyzed, the performance indexes of indoor positioning algorithm are given. Then,three indoor positioning algorithms based on signal footprint matching are introduced.By means of some simulation experiments, the key factors affecting positioningaccuracy are analyzed, and the positioning performance comparison of the threealgorithms is also investigated. Finally, an indoor wireless positioning system based onsignal strength footprint matching in wireless LAN infrastructure is implemented, and aseries of tests have been carried. The test results show that the indoor positioningalgorithms based on signal footprint matching can ensure high estimation precision. |
