This paper analyzes the mobile radio channel fading characteristics and describesthe basic principles of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system.Furthermore,the channel estamation technique in OFDM system is investigated,with theemphasis on pilot-assisted channel estamation methods. We first introduce several clas-sic basic channel estimation algorithm: Least Square (LS) algorithm, Singular ValueDecomposition (SVD) algorithm, Linear mini mummean square error (LMMSE) algo-rithm. However, the computational complexity of LMMSE algorithm is large, it dosenot use the actual application.In order to reduce the complexity of the traditional LMMSE channel estimation al-goritm,an improved algorithm is proposed in the paper.It uses correlation bandwidth topartition the autocorrelation matrix in the traditional LMMSE estimator into smallsub-matrices.The algorithm reduces the dimension of the autocorrelation matrix and thenumber of operations,but the decline in performance of the system.Compared toLS,traditional LMMSE and SVD, simulation results show that the improved algorithmcan maintain good BER under the effect of different Doppler. |
