The hybrid method has the advantage of overcoming the limitations ofhigh-frequency and low-frequency methods, which is highly valuable for the research ofand application on EM scattering of composite targets. In this thesis, theelectromagnetic scattering for electrically large targets is studied with the hybrid methodparticularly. The main work and results are as follows:Depending on current-based method, the formulation of hybrid MoM-PO methodfor two-dimensional objects is presented in detail. The problems of region-dividingbetween low-frequency and high-frequency regions are analyzed. For the purpose of the continuity of currents, the MoM and PO select the RWGbasis function, and the hybrid formulation for three-dimensional targets is given.Several three-dimensional complex targets are calculated by the hybrid method.Numerical results show that the hybrid method has higher efficiency. The problems ofregion-dividing are analyzed emphatically in the three-dimensional targets. The scattering of a target located on one-dimensional rough surface is computed bythis hybrid method particularly. The effects of region-dividing and region-coupling areanalyzed. The radar cross section (RCS) of a rolling ship on the rough sea is computedby the hybrid method. The changes of the RCS because of ship’s rolling motion areanalyzed. The accuracy and efficiency of this hybrid method are discussed.
