With the development of the network applications, It is hoped that one can getsecure and high-quality communication with each other whenever and whereever theyare. The interconnection between heterogeneous networks becomes an importantresearch direction because of these applications. However, current networks are all quitedifferent in communication and network technologies. The interconnection among thememphasizes not only the study of converged communication and network performanceon the need for in-depth study, but the network security is also very prominent. Thispaper focuses on the interconnection in two types of typical networks as well as thesecurity of them. Related work is as follows.First, based on IEEE802.21MIH vertical handover franework, this paper proposesa network interconnection scheme, the handover initiation and handover decision ofwhich are implemented by MIH. Here, the handover execution is achiveved by FMIPv6protocol, while the network security for handover process is also present in the paper.The NS2simulation shows a less packet lost in the handover, and the dalay is alsowithin an acceptable range.Second, a trust-based multi-path gateway discovery scheme is presented for theinterconnection of internet and MANET in the paper. According to this scheme, MN canstore several routes to gateways, which enhances robustness of networks. Taking trust asa criterion to select the best route, the rout selection rule not only make the gatewayroute hops as small as possible, but also assures a secure path to the gateway. In order toverify the correctness of the scheme, some related simulation is carried out by NS2. Theresults confirm networks using the proposed scheme realize a high packet delivery rateļ¼Œa small delay and routing overhead, and some protective effect on the black hole andDoS attack.
