The open and dynamic network makes the user requirement and externalenvironment of information system change more and more frequently,thereforeinformation system is supposed to have the capability of self-adapting evolution toadapt to the change. Since the current information system is distributed and integrated,how to improve the capability of integrated system to adapt to the complicated andvariable environment and requirement has been the focus of the research of informationsystem evolution.With the characteristics of autonomy, initiative, social etc. Agenttechnology is introduced into the field of system integration evolution in this paper toexplore the architecture and model of agent-based self-adapting evolution of integratedsystem.Through the introduction of Agent, the integration unit possesses the capability ofself-reacting, self-evolving and flexible cooperation in complicated environment etc.Additionally, the metadata control technology is applied to multi-agent cooperationcontrol module of agent-based integrated system in order to make the system evolveoriented to multi-fields. Based on the technology and strategy, Agent self-evolvingmodel and agent-based self-evolving architecture of integrated system are proposed inthis paper, and the corresponding runtime environment and tools are developped tosupport the self-adaptiving evolution of integrated system. Finally, a group ofexperiments is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the model and strategy proposedin this paper.
