Design And Realization Of Software Platform Of Remote Debugger For Embedded System Based On Eclipse

In the development of the embedded software, debugging is very important.Debugging plays a pivotal position in the whole development. An efficient and strongdebugging system can greatly reduce the whole development time of the system.Therefore, debugging tool is an important factor to measure the quality of the softwaredevelopment enviroment.Now commonly used embedded debug technologies are monitoring softwaredebugging method and hardware simulator debugging method. This paper analyzes thefeature of the different embedded software debugging methods. Aiming at thehardware simulators method, give the embedded remote debugger software platformfor the overall design scheme and focus on the introduction of the design andimplementation of the remote debugger development platform software environment.This paper analyzes the eclipse development platform and its plugin technology andextend to the debugging interface and framework of the remote debugging platformsoftware environment through the extension point of eclipse platform itself; introduceand analyzes the out file format which is the executable file format running in thetarget computer and the stab debugging information format which is correspond to theout file format and then accomplish the extracting of the debugging information；analyzes the corresponding relation of the source file information and compiled fileinformation and design the communication mechanism during the debugging processby referencing the RSP protocol, then gives the realization of the embedded remotedebugger environment based on the eclipse platform.
