The segmentation and composition of the foreground and background of videos isthe basic requirement of information-based life. This paper gives a deep study onrelative theories and techniques about segmenting and compositing foreground andbackground of video and analysis the difficulties of that. It proposes an interactivesystem in the foundation of these study and analysis. To finish the job of extractingforeground from the input video, it combines “iterative graph cut” and foregroundextracting algorithm that based on the decimation of object and ground. After that, thispaper composites it to a input video as background in the way of incorporating thetheories and techniques in processing digital image including rotation, zooming,panning, visual prominence harmonization, color harmonization and others. It is aninteractive system that simple and effective user interactions are involve in bothsegmenting and compositing procedure.In order to extract the foreground of a video as well as possible, this paper widelystudies the technologies about extracting foreground from image or video. It makes adeep analysis of the “interactive iterated graph cut” algorithm,“active graph cut”method and algorithms base on the description of foreground and background as wellas comparing them with each other in the measurement of extract foreground fromvideo effectively and precisely. In considering to the feature of video segmentation, thesystem proposed here extracting foreground of key frame by using “interactive iteratedgraph cut” algorithm and an algorithms base on description of foreground andbackground while extracting that of non-key frame. The foreground that has preciseboundary is extracted from the key frame in the way of using “iterated graph cut” withuser interactions. The interactions that propagate from one extracted foreground byanother as well as the relativities between frames are used to gain a fast andhigh-quality segmentation.In order to gain harmony video that constructed by the particular foreground andbackground, this paper studies and analyzes the difficulties in compositing theforeground and background. By the help of user’s interaction, this paper simulates theprocedure of taking photograph of the scenario that objects in both foreground andbackground are nearby each other. At the same time, it adjusts the visual prominence ofthe foreground in the final video by any degree that specified by user. The color harmonized procedure change colors of the pixels in the foreground aim to make thecolor distribution of the foreground and background closely as if they are took in ascenario of shining by same source light.Finally, a system for segmenting and composting the foreground and backgroundof videos are developed base on the studies of the technologies about segmenting andcomposting. It takes advantage of the technologies that available and proves that theanalysis about the segmenting and compositing the foreground and background worksand the method proposed in this paper is effective.
