In recent years, human-machine interaction technologies have undergone rapid development, and reached to the stage of the multi-channel and multi-media intelligent interaction. Meanwhile, the way of GIS human-machine interaction also progressed gradually, this mainly reflects in human-machine interface changes, the traditional desktop graphical interface develop to the network GIS human-machine interface, mobile GIS human-machine interface, various kinds of GIS human-machine interaction wall in public place, tourist attractions electronic navigation map and voice navigation map which combines the GIS technology, GPS technology and so on. However, in GIS filed, current human-machine interaction way used in GIS cannot fulfill the need of the scientists and the common people. Hence, it is still a research focus that how to improve the GIS human-machine interaction by adding a natural way to enrich GIS human-machine interaction experience. This article concentrate on mapping problem of GIS interaction method based on somatosensory interaction mode. The main research contents of the paper and the results are as follows:(1) Human motion and GIS operation mapping mechanismAnalyze current GIS system software and utility software, summarize the contents and method of GIS operation, give detailed GIS operation documents; extract and sum up the easy-recognized body motion in standardization, design the mapping mechanism of body motion and GIS operation function.(2) GIS somatosensory interaction middleware construction Aim at body motion and GIS operation mapping mechanism, along with implementation inside human-body interaction technology, design the motion object model and interaction object model, design and implement GIS human-body interaction middleware, select suitable GIS interactive environment to validate the middleware.Focusing on the nature of GIS operations, this article explored the mapping mechanism between the human behavior and GIS operations, and made the mapping process reasonable, efficient and accurate. Concentrating on normalized definition of human motion and comprehensive collection of essential GIS operations, the GIS interactive operations were enriched; the immersive and perceptive interaction was provided. This research is expected to promote the popularization of GIS.
