As the petrochemical resources increasingly depleted, the energy crisis has gradually become one of important factor restricting the development of the global economy. All of us have to face the pressure brought by environmental pollution.The appeal of low-carbon life becomes more and more intense.. In recent years, all contries in the world pay great attention to the renewable and green energy, solar energy.The photovoltaic industry develop rapidlyand bring unlimited business opportunities and profits for the production of solar cells. Nowadays, general production of polysilicon is Siemens process. But because of its large investment, long construction period, power consumption, high cost, and the low production efficiencyetc, the Siemens process is not suitable for solar energy polysilicon production. With the improvement of the physical metallurgy technological, much attention has been paid to it for the advantages of low cost, environment friendly and simple technology.Directional solidification is a very important step in the process of refining solar grade polysilicon.This method can effectively remove the metal impuritie because of their low segregation coefficient and provide feedstock for further refining process. Currently, most of the vacuum directional solidification equipment for polysilicon purification are at the laboratory stage and fewis available on the market. So it is great importanct to develop large-capacity vacuum directional solidification device for promoting the industrialization of the metallurgical production and the progress of solar photovoltaic industry.This thesis is based on the existing directional solidification technology foundation, to carry out the work on the thermal field of equipment:analyse the characteristics and differences of the material properties for the thermal field; design the structure of DPS-650thermal field and check the strength of the various components; request quotations of the manufacturers; finally select the most suitable thermal field materials and manufacturers for the DPS-650after having considered all these factors..
