With rapid advancements in technology, a new research field i.e. Cyber-Physical System (CPS), already more and more get the attention of experts and scholars. Scientists predict that it will change the interaction way between people and the nature, and help us have a better understanding of the physical world or even changes our lifestyle. Current study found that high confidence network communication is very important to the performance of CPS application, but until now none communication protocol can satisfy the requirement of CPS.Due to its low power consumption, low cost, low complexity, IEEE802.15.4protocol as the standard of low-rate wireless personal area networks (WPAN), are widely used in various applications of short-range wireless network communication, such as industrial control, consumer electronics and so on. While CPS are generally built upon wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs), which is an extension of WSNs. So IEEE802.15.4protocol is also considered to be the most appropriate choice as wireless communication protocols for CPS. However, because of the demand characteristics of CPS, we found that the IEEE802.15.4protocol have some shortage about real-time and reliability.To this end, this project will research how to build a high-confidence wireless communication protocol for CPS. In order to highlight the key point, taking Medical Cyber-Physical System(MCPS) as research background. Based on IEEE802.15.4protocol, this thesis proposes an adaptive, real-time and reliable wireless communication protocol i.e. Ada-MAC protocol. This protocol can provide good quality of service (QoS) and support differentiated priority services; because of adopting time-triggered CSMA/CA mechanism and GTS allocation mechanism, the protocol can provide real-time and reliable data transmission. On this basis, establish an adaptive mechanism to support the function of dynamic priority and dynamic resource allocation, in order to solve the effects of system environment dynamic variability. At last, we use OMNeT++simulation platform to evaluate the performance of the new protocol and analyze the results. All of these show us that the Ada-MAC protocol is an adaptive, real-time, reliable wireless communication protocol, which provides an effective solution for network communication of CPS.
