Together with computer technology and communication technology, sensing technology is well known as the pillar of the information society, it had changed the world greatly. In this thesis, we introduce an wavelength-coded full fiber sensor and its application in the biochemical field, and then we discuss the fabrication of silica-based microlens array. We first introduce the thin-core fiber modal interferometer(TCFMI) based full-fiber sensor, a section of the TCF is fusion spliced between two stardard single mode fiber, and a sharp destructive interference (a dip) appeared in the transmission spectrum due to the mismatch of the cores. Experimental results showed that the sensor is very sensitive to the refractive index change, we also assumed that the cladding diameter determine the sensitivity of the sensor, and carried out a set of experiment to verify it. Both non-etched and etched TCFMI tested the hybridization of DNA successfully. In the final part, we introduce the fabrication of glass-based microlens array. Along with the development of semiconductor technology, pixel dimension of CCD image sensor constantly decreases, and its comprehensive performance especially imaging resolution improved a lot, on the other hand, the decrease of pixel means the decrease of detection sensitivity, so improve th fill factor of CCD sensors is the best choice to ptimize it’s function. We tried to employed the integration between glass-based microlens array and CCD sensor, but it is yet finished due to the limit of time. Anyway, we have successfully find out the method to fabricate microlens array on quartz substrate, and test the surface and optical parameters.
