With the continuous development of society, authentication is changing. Authenticationmethods of traditional token and password have the easily lost and forgotten shortcomings,which are difficult to meet the needs of modern society, but human physiological andbehavioral characteristics for authentication way provide a reliable solution. Biometrictechnology is based on people with these physiological and behavioral characteristics, byborrowing modern information processing platform, systematic processing of the collectedbiometric information is compared with the original feature information, so as to achieve arecognition technology for personal identification. Due to the convenience, accuracy and lowcost of fingerprint recognition technology, fingerprint identification has more advantages, andis constantly used in different areas of life, including criminal investigation, airport security,personal electronic information.Fingerprint image acquisition, image pre-processing, image feature extraction and featurematching are the four basic components of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System.In this paper, two aspects of algorithm analysis and research about the characteristics of thefingerprint image extraction and feature matching, In the fingerprint image feature extractionprocess, mainly research grayscale fingerprint image-based direct feature extractionalgorithm and based on fingerprint thinning characteristics extraction algorithm. The twoalgorithms have their own advantages and disadvantages. the process of fingerprint featurecomparison is mainly based on point mode and line pattern matching algorithm.On the basis of the above algorithm, fingerprint recognition algorithm combine withMATLAB graphical user interface, the fingerprint image feature extraction and the featurematching experimental results displayed in the graphical user interface, which each algorithmis carried out a systematic summary analysis. The design of the platform has goodinteractivity, practicality and scalability.
