In the traditional image processing system, PC is in a principal position.However,application rang is limited because of large volume,poor potability and poor stabilitywhen continuous operating out of doors.Now,there are some other image processingplatforms based on other system as well, they mostly adopt MCU, DSP, FPGA and ARM asCPU. Under the present situation, this paper is proposed to the traffic guidance system ofvision based on ARM embedded platform,It employs the design scheme which transplantsLinux on S3C2410made by Sumsung and designs the vision processing algorithm which isapplied to remainding running speed and the detection of traffic congestion.Firstly,analyzing the problem of intelligent trasportation system at present, on that basis, Iresearched lots of related information,and illustrated this system’s applicationvalue.Secondly,based on the function of the system,this paper illustrates the framework designand hardware implementation scheme,and design visual guidance system based on ARMembedded platform,detail design includes:Hardware design of embedded system,transplantionof embedded system,embedded transplantion of OpenCV image processing functionlibrary,driver development of LED display,detection algorithm design of traffic light,detectionalgorithm design of vehicle recognition and program design of traffic guidance system.Lastly,it accomplishs the system debugging by experiment,developing the intelligenttraffic guidance system which combined with detail image processing and embeddedsystem.It explaines the difficulty during the development of image processing system basedon ARM.It gives good direction and reference for the embedded system’s application on theimage processing and intelligent traffic area.
