Numerical simulation method plays an important role in laser system andhigh-power laser design. This method can be used to evaluate limiting performancefor reducing the risk of experiment. It can provide the parameters of optical device forcutting off the cost of development of laser system. It also can analyze theexperimental result for supervising the system debugs, optimizing the design of thesystem, improving the stability and efficiency of system. Both the theoretical analysisand numerical simulation service for the actual engineering design. In addition,transmission simulation software is better for the laser system design and systemanalysis.With the development of computer technology and the wide application ofcomputer graphics, the calculating data can be displayed directly by graphs.Combining the geometric model visualization of optical devices, the evolution ofphysical parameters can be showed visually. Based on the geometry methods andgraphics methods, a high-power transmission simulation software has been developed.The design of software is divided into two parts which are the data design and UIdesign. The data designs include designing a class for each optical device and extractthe common properties to construct a general parent class. Based on the inheritancehierarchy of classes, a corresponding parameters class is designed. The UI design isachieved by windows components, and the butt-joint of UI interface and parametersclass is achieved by string class HPrm<HStr>. After the generated data processed bythe data analysis and processing module, it will pass on to the display module ofresult data.Our software mainly realizes the functions as follows:1) A transmission path isdesigned by user interface conveniently, and it can directly assign the main parameterof elements while ignoring the program’s concrete details;2) it realizes the numericalsimulation of the nonlinear propagation for the optical pulses, optical beams or pulsedbeams;3) it integrates the numerical simulation and visualization, and the graphs orimages will be generated automatically according to the relevant results;4) itimplements the numerical simulation of linear and nonlinear propagation inmulti-medium path. The numerical results by our software are in good agreement withtheoretical results and the typical results from the references. It demonstrates our software’s feasibility. Comparing to the traditional methods, our software not onlyhas good usability and graphical visualization but also possesses good stability andreliability, expansibility, good maintainability and so on.
