Wireless sensor networks as a new information acquirement technology have widely applicationprospects. Software modelling for wireless sensor networks is an important support technology tobuild efficient application system. This paper focuses on behavior process in network protocols ofwireless sensor networks, Uses UML to establish visual behavior models, which describecorrespondly "activity" steps and "state" transition in wireless sensor networks, provides graphicaltools for software development of wireless sensor networks. This paper views wireless sensor networks as multiagent systems, analyzes behaviors intopology control and routing protocol of wireless sensor networks, builds Agent role model andmultiagent group model, uses UML activity diagram to model basic behaviors of wireless sensornetworks, and proposes a series of activity graphical symbols and formalized language rules whichcan visually model basic behaviors of wireless sensor networks. This paper uses UML state diagramto model advanced behaviors of wireless sensor networks, and proposes a series of state graphicalsymbols and formalized language rules. These proposed solutions can solve activity ambiguity andstate transition confusion and so on, implement formal descriptions of activity process and statetransition for wireless sensor networks.Verification analysis shows that the graphical symbols and formalized rules presented in thispaper are helpful to analyze behaviors of wireless sensor networks, and provide the basis for thedynamic behavior analysis and software application development of wireless sensor networks.
