With the rapid development of science and technology, especially mobile technologyadvances, in recent years, the terminal through smart phones, tablet PCs and other mobiledevices to access the Internet increases very fast, mobile Internet users and the size of themarket is also growing rapidly. Because of its openness, Android platform develops rapidlyand it is applied to all areas of society. While a large number of mobile application featuresincreases, the scale of the design and development of mobile phone software has becomeincreasingly large and more complex.These software bring convenience to people’s workingand living, at the same time, the importance of the quality of application software has beenmore attention, and the test is an important guarantee of the high quality application software.Mobile application development presents new structure and behavior characteristics, it isdifferent from traditional software, mobile application platform appeared some newtechnology, new features, these new changes promote new testing technologies and method.In the abroad, technology for automated functional testing of the Android platform has madesome progress such as Monkey and Robotium automated testing tools. In China, the researchand design development of the Android platform software automated functional testing hasjust started and there isn’t perfect test theoretical models and mature testing framework.This paper analyzed the composition and operation mechanism of the characteristics andapplications of Android platform, and combined with the advantages and disadvantages ofexisting testing techniques to focus on GUI automation test theory and technology of Androidapplication. Firstly, to illustrate the feasibility of automated testing technology based on theplatform, the paper introduced existing test technology. Then each of the key technologies isexpounded for the testing architecture. Including UI object identity, UI object capture, UIcontrol repackaged and control, cross-Activity testing, test case design and implementation,according to the characteristics of the mobile platform to achieve a collection of test data andtest results show. In addition, this paper analyzed the design and implementation ofintegration framework playback codes. Finally, the testing platform is proved to be feasibilityand practical in testing process by the example of e-commerce application software.
