Network traffic is one of the basic indexes that measure the network performance.Due to the absence of effective control management of network traffic, publicmultimedia computer rooms in many universities are faced with the problems such asnetwork congestion and hacker’s attack. So does the public multimedia computer roomin Hezhou University. Thus, it is an urgent task for network manager to maximallyutilize the current bandwidth resource and ensure the normal network traffic of thepublic multimedia computer room.RouterOS management system of traffic control strategy has solved theabove-mentioned problems. Compared with other network traffic control technologies,it shows the advantages of powerful functions, novel technologies, less investment inequipments, low maintenance cost, and stable operation. With this system, networkmanager can quickly deploy the basic configurations of RouterOS and the networktraffic control strategy, which will effectively manage the network and guarantee thenormal network traffic. And it will play a significant role in the network of university’spublic computer rooms, SMES, governments, internet bars, etc.This paper mainly studies the traffic control strategy based on RouterOS system,and designs and develops the RouterOS management system of traffic control strategyby way of multiple key computer technologies, as well as applies it to the network ofpublic multimedia computer room in universities.This paper primarily accomplishes the several tasks as follows:First, it analyzes the status as well as the advantages and disadvantages of currentnetwork traffic control products from various manufacturers.Second, specific to current prominent problems of the network in publicmultimedia computer room of Hezhou University, this paper goes deep into the trafficcontrol strategy of RouterOS system, mainly including the technologies such as SimpleQueues speed-limiting, HTB speed-limiting, PCQ speed-limiting, and speed-limiting ofRouterOS system that uses PPPOE to connect the Radius server.Third, based on the in-depth study on the traffic control strategy of RouterOS system, this paper comprehensively uses the technologies, such as Quality of Service,software engineering, C#object-oriented programming language, unified modelinglanguage (UML), and traffic control strategy of RouterOS system. Besides, it hasintroduced the design and development process of RouterOS management system oftraffic control strategy based on three-tier C/S architecture model.Fourth, this paper practically deploys the RouterOS management system of trafficcontrol strategy for the network in public multimedia computer room of HezhouUniversity, as well as tests the system and the network traffic.Fifth, this paper eventually comes into a conclusion and meanwhile presents itsviews on the future development direction of the system.
